It must be cold in Iceland
I have been conducting research on how the poor give more of their discretionary income to charity than the rich do.
The hypothesis goes that those that have done it hard are more likely to be empathetic to others doing it hard and do what they can to alleviate that hurt.
It's also well known that the rich and comfortable tend to be more harsh, less forgiving and have less empathy simply because they do not understand how the "others" live.
Yes, it's a generalisation and there are, of course, exceptions to the rule but I think you, the reader, understand the tone.
On this premise I make the following assertation.
Eve's universe is meant to be a cold, harsh and dark place, and judging by the clips I see on Youtube, it's the absolute antithesis of the environment the devs worked under. They're warm and friendly and it would appear that their work lives are made up of nice things.
There is without question, a correlation in the creation of the complete opposite of the universe they live in to the universe they create.
The softness, the pleasing and delightful atmosphere Eve was created under, provided the impetus for a cold stark and unrepenting Eve. A beautiful thing.
BUT WAIT!!!
CCP got all serious. They went from reckless coders with a dream to an actual, accountant-operated business. They became, to some extent perhaps, the opposite of what they wanted to be. With economic pressures, shareholder backlash, some poor media coverage, CCP and it's employees have been doing it hard.
And voila, in direct proportion to the research mentioned before, Eve started trending to a softness with a blunted edge.
Cold has become chilly, dark has become twilight and harsh has become difficult. HTFU has become Please HTFU. Eve's harshness is being nullified, mollified and mediocritized.
What can we do?
Make CCP HQ a BETTER place to be again and the devs will bring Eve back on track to the cold, harsh universe it should be.
We need to do what we can to help CCP STFU
Some ideas...
1) Provide the devs with more beer, vodka, loose women (or men?) and cookies.
2) Helmar needs to get a pay cut - and a better haircut.
3) Senior management are demoted to tea-ladies and made to walk on their hands while carrying the tea.
4) Turn the air-conditioning up a notch, get the staff wearing swimming trunks and hoola skirts.
5) Let the graphics department use PC's if they want. Mac's are not neccessary to draw pictures!
Eve NEEDS YOU HELP. Put your idea below to make CCP STFU.
(I will draft a report titled "STFU CCP!" to the CCP CEO by COB, Friday with CC to senior management and shareholders.)

Our aircon is quite capable of alternating between finger-numbing and PC-overheating by itself. It doesn't need more encouragement!
